The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) created smaller, nimbler, more strategic local boards. In addition to changes to the membership requirements of boards, WIOA and the regulations also expanded the functions of workforce development boards and set new requirements for local board operations, transparency and internal controls.
The Workforce Investment Board of Will County has designated the County of Will to receive state and federal funds to administer job training and employment programs throughout the County.
Our programs enable eligible youth and adults to develop the skills and knowledge needed to meet the needs of Will County's employers. We also have programs specifically designed to serve employers.
Our approach begins with an understanding of our workforce needs to ensure we fund the most relevant and effective job training programs. Our success relies on strong relationships in the community and transparency of funding decisions. Every dollar invested is intended to have the greatest impact and be the most cost-effective.
